Celebration Community Church's seventh annual Mission Auction met its goal and raised more than $20,000 Saturday night.
More 200 items from local retailers and Celebration Church members were auctioned, with all of the proceeds to be given away to help fund 30 organizations, ministries and mission groups in Hays and throughout the world.
The food was provided by Summer Melvin's family. The emcees were 98.5 FM The Truth's Len Melvin and Brad Moritz. They were joined by auctioneer Ty Gillum who kept the bidders laughing and the atmosphere light.
The musical acts -- Kayla Atkins, Kael Bloom, Kristi Gray, Jill Blurton, Annie Erbert and Leah Leiker; Bill Wyse; and rapper A-Drew McG with dancers Schuyler Coates and Kara Berry -- kept the crowd entertained between auctioned items.
The Community Mission Auction Task Team of Jana Huse, Julie Rider, Cathy Krug, Ericka Pfeifer, Sara Bloom, Debbie Ermoian and Pat McGinnis have been working on the Community Mission Auction since July.
"They all did such an excellent job putting on a great evening of food, fun and generous giving to the greatest cause on earth, the mission of Jesus Christ," Pastor Kyle Ermoian said.
Ermoian also thanked the Encounter leadership team and other volunteers.
