EL DORADO --  The Hays Larks picked up their first road victory of the season Friday night against the struggling El Dorado Broncos.

Hays (7-4) moved to 4-3 in Jayhawk League play with a 3-2 victory, scoring two runs in the eighth inning to claim the win.

MacKenzie Handel led off the inning with a single and Sloan Soulia hit a double, moving Handel to third. Then, both came in on a two-RBI single for pinch hitter Ethan Leiter in the eighth spot.

Aaron Cornell had two hits for Hays and Sean Wilson had three. Kirk Jewasko picked up the win for Hays, moving to 2-0 on the season with a 0.75 earned-run-average.

Jewasko allowed two runs (neither earned) in seven innings with a walk and two strikeouts before handing the ball to Justin Ziegler in the eighth for the two-inning save.
