Donald Christopher Birnbaum, 84, Utica, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Grisell Memorial Hospital, Ransom.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929, near Utica to Christopher and Doris Devota (Stumpff) Birnbaum.
He was a farmer and rancher, and worked on a highway bridge construction crew.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Utica.
Survivors include three sons, Jack and wife, Deborah, Urbandale, Iowa, Jim and wife, Chris, Merriam, and Bob and wife, Rochelle, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two brothers, Lyle, Lebo, and Ed, Fort Dodge, Iowa; five sisters, Carol Birnbaum and Juanita Bock, both of Fort Dodge, Twila Johnston, Ness City, Wanda Hanson, Utica, and Christine Armstrong, Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Timmons.
Services are being planned for the spring and will be announced by the family at a later date.
