Special to The Hays Daily News
Teams and individual members from area churches are needed to serve as volunteer painters and team leaders for the first Hays Paint-A-Thon on Sept. 24th.
Each church can get involved in this worthwhile project. At least 20 to 30 volunteers are needed at each location to help paint the house, provide food and beverages, help with set-up and cleaning, prepare the house for painting and other tasks.
Registration forms are available by emailing email@example.com, online at www.haysrotary.org/CommunityService.cfm, and at the following locations: Hays Daily News, Hays City Hall, and the Student Service Center at Fort Hays State University Memorial Union.
Forms are available to volunteer as part of a team or as an individual. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own brushes, scrapers, putty knives, rags and ladders.
The Hays Rotary Club is sponsoring this event, partnering with Hays area churches through the Ellis County Ministerial Alliance and FHSU Tigers in Service.
This unique community partnership is designed to paint the outside of homes owned and occupied by individuals with limited financial resources who are at least 60 years of age or have a permanent disability.
The three homeowners selected will have their homes painted at no cost. Volunteers will paint the outside of selected homes.
