Cheryl Denise Schmidt and Shaun Michael Dunn were married Oct. 20, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, Hays, with the Rev. Delbert Stanton officiating.

Parents of the couple are David and Linda Schmidt, Hays, and Michael and Linda Dunn, Manchester, Mo.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Honor attendant was Sherrie Stawinski, friend of the bride. Attendants were Paulina Starkey, Amy Zavala and Margaret Anderson, friends of the bride, Kelly Emerson, sister of the groom, and Marla Schmidt, sister of the bride.

Best man was Kevin Carter, friend of the groom.

Groomsmen were Eric Starkey, Matt Sexson and A.J. Thomas, friends of the groom, and Bill Emerson, brother-in-law of the groom.

Ushers were Curtis Wolf and Ben Wheeler, friends of the groom.

Candlelighters were the mothers.

Flower girl was Jenna Emerson, niece of the groom.

The bride is a graduate of Hays High School and Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in biology. She is an environmental scientist for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Parkway South High School, Manchester, and Central Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in biology and FHSU with a master's degree in biology. He is a environmental technician for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Following a wedding trip to the jungles of Ecuador, the newlyweds are at home in Hays.
