GOODLAND -- Few details are being released in connection with an explosion and resulting fire -- believed to be arson -- that seriously injured a Goodland woman, according to a statement from Goodland Police Chief Cliff Couch.
The fire was reported Friday morning, when Sherman County dispatchers received a report of a house on fire in the 500 block of West Ninth. The Goodland Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire.
An ambulance was dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of West 10th to assist a woman who said she had been injured in the fire. The woman, who wasn't identified, was taken to Goodland Regional Medical Center.
Couch, who is leading the investigation, said arson is suspected. He's being assisted by the State Fire Marshal's office.
Couch said he won't be releasing any more details until after the investigation is complete.
