The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys' basketball team, coming off a 13-10 season in which it made the sub-state title game, had two players named to the MCAA first team.
Senior Jordan Gottschalk, who led the team with 17 points in the sub-state championship game against Beloit, and junior Kameron Schmidt were named to the first team, while senior Ryan Mayorga and sophomore Peyton Hoffman were named to the second team.
The rest of the first team included Larned seniors Easton Palmer and Grant Unruh, and Ellinwood junior Marc Waite.
On the girls' side, TMP freshman Megan Koenigsman was a first-team selection and sophomore Melissa Pfeifer second team. The TMP girls went 7-14 this season, losing to Phillipsburg in the first round of sub-state.
Ellinwood seniors Kelsea Ward and Sophie Hayes, as well as Hoisington senior Jordin Greer and sophomore Rylie Koester, were also on the first team.
This was the final year of the Mid Central Activities Association. TMP will join the Mid Continent League for all sports beginning next season
