John W. "Jack" Rheem, 90, Wichita, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2104.
He was owner of Rheem and Associates. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a teacher and coach at Victoria High School. He was a Victoria High School Hall of Fame inductee. He was development director of Sacred Heart College/Newman University, and he helped start Newman intercollegiate athletics and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was a former American Red Cross chairman and instrumental in the development of Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include three sons, John "Jack" W. II, Jim, and Randy and wife, Shawn, Wichita; three daughters, Royalynn Robertson and husband, John, and Maria Marshall and husband, Michael, Wichita, and Julie Forte, Dallas; 14 grandchildren, Jamie, Amy, Joe, Tim, Kyle, Joel, Kristopher, John, Julia, Andrew, Kelcie, Carah, Phillip and Courtney; and two great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadene; and parents, John D. Rheem and Nellie M. Hulscher.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Holy Savior Catholic Church in care of Downing & Lahey West, Wichita.
