Jeff and Kris Scarborough, Gorham, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jessica Leigh Scarborough, to Blake Elliott Stoppel, son of Blaine and Kim Stoppel, Russell.
Grandparents and great-grandparents of the couple are Francis Huffman, Gorham, Lorraine Krug, Lonnie Munk, Melvin and Juanita Flegler, and Janice Stoppel, all of Russell.
The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Russell High School. She completed her bachelor's degree in business marketing with a minor in pre-law and a certificate in leadership studies from Kansas State University in 2009.
She is attending her final year of law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is registered to sit for the Kansas bar in July.
The prospective groom also is a 2005 graduate of RHS. He graduated in 2010 from Kansas State University at Salina with a bachelor's degree in technology management and an associate's degree in construction engineering technology with a minor in business.
He is employed with PCL Construction, Denver.
The couple resides in Denver, but will relocate to the Russell area in May of this year.
A March 17, 2012, wedding is planned at St. John Lutheran Church, Russell.
