LAWRENCE -- The annual Rock Chalk Roadshow recently toured the state to visit with students from 156 schools in 65 counties across Kansas.
University of Kansas representatives visited schools to meet with counselors, drop off materials and present to students during the day. Evening receptions with families and interested students occurred in five cities. KU students who graduated from area high schools were present to talk about their experiences as Jayhawks and to answer questions. KU professors also were on hand to speak about academic and experiential learning opportunities.
Area students include:
Kirsten Locke, WaKeeney. Locke is a graduate of Trego Community High School and is a senior studying psychology.
Christina Carreira, Hays. Carreira is a graduate of Hays High School and is a senior studying journalism and strategic communication.
Events took place Aug. 25 to 29 in Garden City, Hays, Hutchinson, Manhattan and Salina.
