CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- The former police officer accused of killing his pregnant lover is testifying he swung his elbow at her and struck her when she wouldn't let him out of her house.
Bobby Cutts Jr. said on the witness stand Monday he was at Jessie Davis' home to pick up his son and was telling her to hurry.
He cried as he testified that Davis grabbed him and told him he couldn't leave. He says he pulled his arm away and threw his elbow back and it struck her in the area of her throat.
Cutts could receive the death penalty if convicted of killing Davis. He has pleaded not guilty.
