KENSINGTON -- Garrett Krueger made the switch this week for the Longhorns from quarterback to a running back/receiver. He posted 60 rushing yards and two rushing scores and caught four passes for 62 yards and a pair of scores as the Longhorns ended the game by halftime. Thunder Ridge started junior Dylan Bretton at QB. He was 5 of 10 for 70 yards with the two scores to Krueger. Trent Rietzke put up a normal night, rushing for 104 yards on eight carries with two scores. The win moves the Longhorns to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in Eight-Man Division II, District 5. Stockton falls to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in district play. The Longhorns are out of district play this week as they travel to Cheylin. Stockton hosts Northern Valley.

LEOTI -- Ellis picked up its second win and moved to 1-0 in Class 2-1A, District 7 play with the win. Wichita County dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in district play. Ellis jumped out early with a 13-0 lead at the break. Wichita County's score came late in the fourth quarter. The Railers host 2-3 St. Francis this week.

Goodland fell to 3-3, and will open up Class 4A, District 16 play at Clay Center this week. The Beavers (5-1) open up 3A, District 15 play at Hoisington (2-3).

WaKEENEY -- Rawlins County is 6-0 for the second straight season and remains atop the Eight-Man Division I, District 8 field. Michael Capo rushed for two early scores as the Buffaloes led 36-6 at halftime. Trego's lone score came on a 78-yard run by senior Devon Ghumm, who had 125 rushing yards on 10 carries. Rawlins County, ranked No. 5 in the statewide media poll, hosts Quinter this week in the second meeting between the two teams. This week's game will count in the district standings. Trego travels to defending Division I state champion Ness City, which fell 44-26 in Hoxie on Friday.

Chase Kennedy accounted for 127 yards on the ground with four rushing scores. Connor Katt added 115 on 24 carries. Kennedy also passed for 39 yards with a 22-yard scoring pass from Tyler Kaus. Hoxie travels to Hill City this week for district play. Ness City hosts Trego.

QUINTER --  Tyler Waggoner passed for 201 yards and five touchdowns, helping Quinter to its first win in Eight-Man Division I, District 8 win. Brett Crist caught four passes for 127 yards in the effort. Colton Corwin caught two passes for 49 yards. Zach Mader rushed 19 times for 146 yards and two scores for the Bulldogs, who travel unbeaten Rawlins County this week. Hill City, which dropped to 1-5, hosts Hoxie.

GRANT, Neb. -- Dayton Dreher had 17 carries for 189 yards and four scores, part of a 352-yard rushing day for the 3-3 Red Devils. Oberlin returns to district play this week in Class 2-1A, District 7, when it travels to 5-1 Oakley. Oakley beat St. Francis, 56-0, on Friday. Oakley, outside of its 14-6 loss to unbeaten Class 3A Phillipsburg, has not allowed a point this season.

INMAN -- Jack Garcia passed for 219 yards and three scores, and La Crosse got a special teams and defensive touchdown as the Leopards moved to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Class 2-1A, District 5 play. Andrew Jay had six receptions for 69 yards as Garcia's 219 passing yards came on just eight completions. He added 39 rushing yards on six carries, while Lucas Moeder rushed 12 times for 65 yards and a score. La Crosse hosts Sterling in district action this week.

Lane Kisner led the Knights with six carries for 46 yards and two scores. Victoria moved to 2-0 in Eight-Man Division II, District 6 play and travels to Dighton this week. Otis-Bison hosts Western Plains.

Linn fell to 2-4 overall and 2-2 in district play. Jake Tiernan completed 4 of 6 passes for 63 yards and a score, but did have two interceptions. The Bulldogs host Clifton-Clyde (5-1, 4-0 district) on Friday.

TRIBUNE -- No. 2 ranked Sharon Springs-Wallace County jumped out to a 44-0 lead after one quarter and ended the game at halftime via the mercy rule. Luke Schemm carried the ball six times for 200 yards (33 average) and four touchdowns, and Kyle Gfeller completed 4 of 6 passes for 94 yards and two scores. Wallace County, 3-0 in District 6 play, hosts 1-5 Golden Plains on Friday.
