Eagles, Monarchs pick up wins

The Hays Senior Legion baseball team picked up a 22-11 victory Tuesday night over the Colorado Select at Larks Park.
The Eagles posted 21 hits in eight innings, scoring 12 runs through the second and third.
Leading the charge was Riley Kaus, who was 4 for 6 on the night with three RBIs. Zack Legleiter drove in four runs, going 3 for 6.
Clayton Basgall and Austin Unrein also had three hits each.
Seven different Eagles had multiple-hit games, picking up a win for Tyler Wooldridge (8-0).
Colorado posted nine runs through the fifth and sixth, seven coming off Wooldridge, the other two charged to Trevor Henningsen, who pitched two innings of relief. For the game, Wooldridge allowed nine runs (all earned) on 10 hits with four walks and a strikeout.
The Eagles (38-8) and Colorado Select were set to play at 9 a.m. today at Larks Park. The game was rescheduled because of the Junior Legion Zone Tournament, which was set to begin this afternoon.
The Eagles are the top seed for next week's AAA Zone Tournament in Hays, and will await the winner between Dodge City and Great Bend for Monday's semifinal game.
That game will be at 6:30 p.m. Dodge City and Great Bend play at 4 p.m. The tournament runs Monday through Wednesday.
The Hays Monarchs picked up two wins on the road Tuesday against Colby.
Moving to 14-10 on the year, the Monarchs swept Colby, 19-10, and 9-1. Bryan Brungardt picked up the win in the opener, and Nick Hammeke won in the nightcap.
The Monarchs play two games Thursday in Great Bend, before beginning play Sunday in the AA Zone Tournament in Lincoln.
