FHSU baseball finishes off sweep

The Fort Hays State University baseball team trailed 2-0 early, but came back to defeat Lincoln (Mo.) University 5-2 on Sunday at Larks Park. FHSU swept the series and moved to 19-14 overall and 15-13 in the MIAA. The Blue Tigers fell to 3-23, 2-19 MIAA.

Junior Michael Edelfson got the win to improve to 2-1. He worked seven innings and allowed two runs on five hits with two strikeouts against three walks. Senior Kyle Leroy earned his fourth save of the season.

Fort Hays scored its fifth run in the fifth on a RBI groundout from senior second baseman Chris Santoscoy. Fort Hays tallied three runs in the sixth when junior Clayton Garland, senior Ryan Busboom and Rule collected doubles and Santoscoy had a RBI single.

FHSU travels Wednesday to Topeka to face Washburn.
