GOODWELL, Okla. — The Fort Hays State University men's basketball team has won four straight.

Thanks to good free throw shooting down the stretch, the Tigers picked up an 87-80 victory Saturday against Oklahoma-Panhandle State University.

The win pushes the Tigers to 6-2 on the year with one game left — Monday against Sterling College at Gross Memorial Coliseum — before the holiday break.

In Saturday's game, Ben Conguista led the Tigers with 21 points, hitting 6 of 6 free throws, while Dwayne Brunson chipped in 20 points, hitting 4 of 4 at the foul line.

The Tigers led by two at halftime but fell down in the second half by five. Fort Hays, though, hit 18 of 23 free throws in the second half to claim the victory. That included a 27-15 run after falling down by five. Panhandle dropped to 4-6.

Lance Russell (12), Craig Nicholson (16) and Carson Konrade (11) also scored in double figures for Fort Hays.

Monday's game begins at 7 p.m., then the Tigers are off until facing South Dakota School of Mines on Dec. 29.
