Tiger tennis opens MIAA play with 9-0 win

The Fort Hays State Unviersity tennis team opened MIAA play Friday with a 9-0 win against Missouri Western State University at the FHSU Courts.

The win moved the Tigers to 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the MIAA.

The Tigers won easily in doubles play as Brittney Ricci and Melissa Skovira won 8-1 at No. 1, while Camille Caron-Bedard and Caitlyn Wark won 8-3. Brianna Watkins and Emily Wyse also won 8-3.

FHSU played well in singles also, surrendering no more than three games. Caron-Bedard (No. 1), Ricci (No. 2), and Laura Johnson (No. 5) all won 6-1, 6-1.

The Tigers are back at the FHSU Courts on Friday and Saturday in MIAA play against Southwest Baptist (Mo.) University and Lincoln (Mo.) University. Start time is noon Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
