FHSU tennis drops pair of MIAA duals

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Fort Hays State University women's tennis team suffered a pair of 9-0 MIAA losses Friday and Saturday.

FHSU fell to the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla., then fell to Northeastern State University on Saturday in Tahlequah.

The losses drop the Tigers to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in MIAA play.

On Friday, FHSU's No. 1 doubles team of Brittney Ricci and Katie Hipp fell 8-6. Michelle Miller and McKenzie Haynes lost 8-1 at No. 2 doubles, while Reinette Strydom and Raven Dick lost 8-4 at No. 3

In singles action, Ricci lost 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Miller was shutout at No. 2. Hipp fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3. Strydom and Dick were both shutout at No. 4 and 5, while Haynes lost 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6

FHSU is at Hastings (Neb.) College on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. start, and will host Emporia State University and Washburn University on Friday and Saturday in MIAA action.
