In all, the Fort Hays State University track & field team took home 29 All-conference honors over the weekend at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Outdoor Championships in Maryville, Mo.

Of the 29, three were MIAA titles for individuals, to go along with several top 5 medals.

After Saturday's win for senior Brady Maska in the discus, junior Bryan Haynes added the MIAA 200-meter dash title, with a time of 20.69 seconds, a stadium record at Northwest Missouri State University. Haynes also finished second in the 100-meter dash in 10.49, behind University of Central Missouri's Damond Berry, who set a new stadium record in 10.45.

Sophomore Garrett Edgar took home top honors in the javelin. The Washington, Kan. native threw 191 feet, 3 inches on his second attempt, leading Fort Hays to a sweep of the top four spots in the event. Senior Kyle Jilka (190-10), freshman Adam Capps (186-10), and junior Nick Panek (180-1), were second, third and fourth, respectively. Sophomore Tim Markloff finished seventh with a toss of 175-11.

The Tigers finished with 118 1/2 points on the men's side, placing fourth in the final standings. Central Missouri won the crown with 174 1/2 points.

On the women's side, the TIgers scored 61 in seventh place. Junior Ashee Orr got the Tigers started Saturday with her second-place finish in the 10,000-meter run.

The 1,600-meter relay team of Ashley Dopita, Katie Kersenbrock, Brooke Hobbs, and Megan McClain placed second in 3:54.03, while junior Lindsay McCormick was second in the javelin at 133-0.

Several Tigers will compete in the Emporia State Twilight Qualifier on Saturday in Emporia before the NCAA Division II Champions May 22 to 24.
