Tiger wrestlers eliminated in Day 1 at NCAAs

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Fort Hays State Unviersity wrestlers Tanner Kriss and Travis Budke were eliminated in Day 1 on Friday of the the NCAA Division II national wrestling tournament.
Kriss (197 pounds), a Colby native, won his first match, but dropped the next two. Budke (174), a TMP-Marian graduate, lost two straight matches.
Kriss defeated Chase Long of Ohio Valley, 3-1, but was pinned in the consolation quarterfinals, then again in his elimination match.
Budke lost his opener by a 15-4 major decision, then lost 12-6 in his first consolation match.
