Tiger wrestlers drop first dual

EDMOND, Okla. --  The Fort Hays State University wrestling team suffered a 22-12 loss to University of Central Oklahoma in its first dual of the season.

Central Oklahoma, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II, won six of the 10 matches Friday en route the win.

The Tigers' four wins included a 3-2 decision at 141 pounds for C.J. Napier. Travis Budke won 3-2 at 174 pounds and Tanner Kriss won 6-2 at 197 pounds. The Tigers' other victory came at 125 with Garrett Jones giving Fort Hays the early dual lead 3-0.

The Tigers are in action again today at the Newman Invitational in Wichita. Fort Hays closes out the first semester Friday in action at the Ravens Duals in Atchison.
