The Fort Hays State University women's soccer team picked up its first MIAA win of the season Friday night at FHSU Soccer Stadium.

Amanda Talbott scored a goal in the 85th minute on a free kick as the Tigers won 1-0 against University of Central Oklahoma. Fort Hays improves to 4-6-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the MIAA. UCO dropped to 5-6-1, 2-3-1 MIAA.

Talbott had five shots, four on goal to lead the way. Nicole Barnaba had a season-high 12 saves.

Talbott's free kick was the result of a handball call on UCO after the Bronchos outshot the Tigers 10-2 after intermission.

The Tigers are at home again today against Northeastern State at 1 p.m. at FHSU Soccer Stadium.
