HHS swim team fourth in Salina

SALINA -- The Hays High School boys' swimming team finished fourth among seven schools in Wednesday's meet at Salina South.
Newton won with 467 points, followed by Hutchinson (386), Great Bend (374) and Hays High (353).
Hays High junior Derek Drees won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.60 seconds, took third in the 100 butterfly (1:00.90) and was on the third-place 200 medley relay a(1:53.61) and 200 free relay (1:40.85). Seniors Nathan Adams and Trever Rohn also swam on both relays, while junior Connor Hess was on the 200 medley relay and senior Torrey Contrerez was on the 200 free relay.
Adams also finished third in the 200 IM (2:20.90) and junior Blake Mathews was second in the 500 free (5:44.73).
