HUTCHINSON -- The Hays High School girls' swim team took fifth out of five teams on Tuesday at the Hutchinson Invitational. The Indians finished with 156 points, while host Hutchinson High School won the invite with 388 points. McPherson (281), Dodge City (236) and Liberal (199) also swam.

Hays High had another solid showing from freshman Ana Goodlett, who took fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 15.86 seconds. Goodlett also took sixth in the 200 IM in 2:59.10, with Lakin Ditter (3:05.32) and Alexa Steinkuhler (3:10.20) taking seventh and ninth, respectively, in the same event.

Ditter took home a sixth-place finish in the 100 butterfly as well with a time of 1:30.54, with Emily Brinley right behind her in eighth (1:44.04). Ashley Cossaart placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:35.64.

The Indians' 400 free relay team of Goodlett, Steinkuhler, Lexie Schaben and Amanda Koenigsman took fifth in 4:59.71. Both the 200 medley relay (2:30.26) and 200 free relay (2:12.24) teams took sixth.

The Indians have one final regular season meet remaining, a trip to El Dorado on Saturday. After that Hays High will host the WAC meet on May 15 at the Center for Health Improvement pool.
