Landon Keiswetter, a two-time state champion with the Norton Bluejays in 2010 and 2011, recently won a National Junior College national championship.
Keiswetter, a 184-pound sophomore at Pratt Community College, won the title Saturday at the national tournament in Des Moines, Iowa.
Keiswetter picked up a 6-3 decision in the title match against Labette Community College's Cody Johnson. To make it to the title match, Keiswetter earned two major decisions, then earned a 5 minute, 42-second pin in the semifinals.
Keiswetter won back-to-back Class 3-2-1A titles (152 and 160 pounds), and was a part of two straight team championships for the Bluejays.
Former Hays High School wrestler Dylon Braun also earned a national medal, finishing third in the same weight class. Braun, a sophomore at Colby Community College, won 9-4 in the consolation final. He defeated Reid Chivers of Southwestern Oregon. Braun suffered his first loss in the bracket in the quarterfinals, a 3-2 OT decision. He then won three matches to place third.
