Larks move into tie for league lead

The Hays Larks moved into a tie for first place in the Jayhawk League on Saturday night.
By way of an 11-6 victory against Liberal at Larks Park, Hays (22-10, 16-10 Jayhawk) is now tied with Dodge City for the league lead.
The Larks and Bee Jays play again Sunday in a 7 p.m. game at Larks Park.
In Saturday's win, the Larks jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Liberal (16-11 Jayhawk) rallied with six runs through the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.
Hays starter Justin Ziegler moved to 4-1 on the summer as he pitched 5.2 innings, allowing five runs on six hits with eight strikeouts to one walk.
Jason Heflin allowed the other run, and Brett Macari and Colton Reavis each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.
Aaron Cornell had three of the Larks' 10 hits, and scored two runs in the leadoff spot. Austin Darby stretched his hit streak to 14 games with a pair of singles.
