By The Hays Daily News
The Hays Larks had three first-inning errors leading to two Greeley, Colo. runs, and that was the difference in Monday's NBC opener.

Hays fell 2-1 to the Grays, despite a complete game from starter Justin Ziegler.

Hays managed eight hits on the night, and had the winning run at second with no outs in the ninth in pinch runner Tito Andino, who was thrown out at home after a liner single to left field.

All three runs in the game were scored in the first inning by both teams.

The loss drops Hays into the losers' bracket, where the Larks will play at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday against an opponent to be determined later at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
