For the second time this season, Fort Hays State University junior center Kate Lehman earned the MIAA Player of the Week honor.
Lehman pushed her double-double streak to six straight games as the Tiger women went 2-0 this week with wins against the University of Saint Mary and Northwest Missouri State University.
Lehman also set a new career blocked shots record in the MIAA with 269. She broke the old record of 262 set by Esmary Vargas-Sanchez of Emporia State from 2002 to 2005. She broke the record in Monday's win against Saint Mary.
In the two games this week, Lehman averaged 18.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and five bocked shots. Against Northwest Missouri, a 79-69 double-overtime victory for FHSU, Lehman scored 21 points and grabbed 17 rebounds with four blocked shots.
