Munsch qualifies for nationals for KU

Former Hays High School standout runner Josh Munsch is now making his name known at the University of Kansas.

A sophomore, Munsch qualified this season for the NCAA Division I national meet in the 1,500-meter run.

Munsch is seeded seventh on the prelim heat sheet with a time of 3 minutes, 45.11 seconds, three seconds back from the top seed.

Munsch ran that time at the Division I West Preliminary to finish 12th overall, the final qualifying spot for the national meet out of the West prelim.

The national outdoor meet is today through Saturday at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
