LAKIN — In a rematch of last year’s 3A sub-state title game, the Thomas More Prep-Marian girls’ basketball team earned a little redemption, knocking off undefeated and top ranked Southwestern Heights, 51-47 Saturday.
The Monarchs’ only loss last season was to the Mustangs in the sub-state title game, and Southwestern Heights went on to win the 3A state championship.
TMP-Marian (22-1) advances to this week’s 3A state tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena for the first time since 1994. The Mustangs end their season at 22-1.
