TMP girls third, boys fifth at Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH -- The Thomas More Prep-Marian track and field team competed at the Ellsworth Invitational on Tuesday, with the Monarch girls finishing third and the boys, fifth.
Junior Heather Ruder won the 1,600-meter run (5:17.13) and the 1,600-meter run (11:50.37) to pace the TMP girls.
Taking second for TMP were sophomore Mikaela Flax in the 300 hurdles (49.90); freshman Kaylor Gottschalk in the high jump (4-10); sophomore Samantha Younie in the triple jump (32-111/2). As well, TMP went 2-3 in the pole vault, with junior Megan Gottschalk second (9-0) and senior Emilie Taylor third (8-6). Younie also finished third in the 200 dash (28.54).
On the boys' side, junior Rodney Deus won the 200 dash (23.32) and took third in the 100 (11.40). Senior Austin Werth won the pole vault (12-6), with freshman Sam Dreiling second (11-0).
Sophomore Ryan Mayorga took second in the high jump (5-8), and sophomore Aaron Moore was third in the discus (116-5).
The Concordia boys won the team title with 133 points, followed by Ellsworth with 711/2. TMP was fifth with 59. The Concordia girls also won, scoring 113 points. Pratt was second with 110 and TMP was third with 81.
