Rhoades, Hockett win at Russell

RUSSELL -- Thomas More Prep-Marian's Tucker Rhoades won the 113-pound weight class Saturday at the Russell Invitaitonal, joined by teammate Ricky Hockettin first place at 120 pounds.

Rhoades finished 3-0 with wins against Osborne's Quentin Morris, Stockton's Dillon Krier and Onaga's Jonathan Fairbanks, fall via pin en route to the tourney title.

Hockett went 3-0 with wins against Plainville's Kyle Eickelberry, Stockton's Kieran Graf and Russell's Joseph Cochran.

Host Russell won top team honors with 148 points, 15 ahead of runner-up Plainville. Onaga was third with 109, Stockton fourth at 49 and TMP-Marian fifth with 45.

Plainville's Gunner Kerns took first at 126 pounds with a 4-0 record, with teammate Trever Houser first at 132 with the same record.

At 138 pounds, Russell's Chase Prester won with a 2-0 record with wins agianst Plainville's Adam Gehring and Onaga's Jeff Chestnut.

The Broncos' Kelton Suchy took first at at 145 pounds with a 5-0 mark.

Plainville had two more indidivual titles with Trevor Desaire at 152 and Dylan Wiesner at 182. Stockton's Braden Higdon won at 220 pounds.
