Several local and area high school wrestlers qualified for the upcoming state wrestling championships.

The Hays High School wrestling team competed in the Class 5A regional in Great Bend on Saturday, while Colby and Goodland were at Abilene for the 4A regional. In Class 3-2-1A, Norton hosted arguably the state's toughest regional. The top four in each weight class advanced to this week's state championships. Class 5A is at Park City's Hartman Arena. Class 4A is at Salina's Bicentennial Center, while 3-2-1A is at Hays' Gross Memorial Coliseum.

Final places were not decided by press time, but the following are the area qualifiers in each weight class.
