Indian tennis ties for first at Cimarron

CIMARRON -- The Hays High School girls' tennis team got tested in its first tournament of the year.
The Indians tied for first with Tribune-Greeley County on Thursday at Cimarron's Round Robin. Each team scored 40 points, but Hays High won the tournament based on a higher winning percentage.
Freshman Brooke Forinash was the lone Indian to finish first. She went 4-1 in No. 2 singles.
Senior Shelby Dinkel finished second in No. 1 singles, going 4-1.
The doubles teams also finished second.
Seniors Megan Bird and Janae Gagnon went 3-1 in No. 1 doubles, and junior Kelsee DeBoer and freshman Taylor DeBoer finished 4-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Cimarron finished third with 19 points, and South Central was fourth with 19, losing to Cimarron via tiebreaker. Ulysses took fifth with 17, and St. John was sixth with 15.
