SALINA -- The Hays Senior Legion baseball team saw its 14-game winning streak end Tuesday.

The Hays Eagles fell 12-7 in a 9-inning game on the road against the Salina Falcons at James Matson Field.

The Falcons (25-8) put on a hitting display, posting 17 hits.

Taylor Renz (1-2) pitched six innings and allowed 10 earned runs, 16 hits and four walks while striking out six.

Tyler Wooldridge pitched the final two innings, allowing two runs (none earned), one hit and two walks.

Half of the damage was done in one inning, as Renz allowed six runs in the bottom of the second.

The Eagles (35-5) rallied and pulled within one in the top of the sixth before the Falcons slammed the door shut, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth.

The Eagles finished with 10 hits and missed some scoring opportunities, stranding 13 runners in the game.

Outfielder Zack Legleiter led the Eagles at the plate, hitting 4 of 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Trevor Henningsen was the only other Eagle with a multi-hit game, finishing 2 of 4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Salina Falcons pitcher Keenan Breen (6-0) was the winning pitcher. He surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out three.

The Eagles will play Thursday at a tournament in Kansas City that lasts until Sunday.
