Tiger women win, men fall in exhibition

The Fort Hays State University men's and women's soccer teams competed in exhibition matches Friday on the road.
The women's team was on the right side of a blowout, while the men's team was on the wrong side of one.
The women defeated Bethany College 7-1, and the men lost 4-0 to Hastings College.
The women's team out shot Bethany 29-2.
Sophomore midfielder Jordan Shaw, junior forward Joanne Glynn, sophomore midfielder Margaret Meier, senior midfielder Nicole Randall and senior midfielder Bethany Keefer all contributed goals. Glynn and Randall scored two in the match.
Meier and senior forward Cindy Benitez finished with two assists apiece.
No match details were available for the men's match against Hastings College.
The women play their final exhibition match at 5:30 p.m. today at Kansas Wesleyan University.
The men begin their season at 6 p.m. Friday against Colorado Christian University at Lakewood, Colo.
