The Fort Hays State University track and field teams competed at indoor meets this weekend at either the Nebraska Tune-Up or Kansas State University Open.
Friday at the Nebraska Tune-Up, senior Alex Hendee won the 3,000-meter run in eight minutes and 25.63 seconds. He also placed second in the mile run in 4:12.47.
Saturday at the Kansas State Open, freshman Nick Betts won the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet, 10.5 inches.
Senior Whitney Taylor, an Ellis High School graduate, won the 400-meter dash in 59.42 seconds at the KSU Open -- the only athlete to break the minute mark.
