Tiger women sit in 12th in Oklahoma tourney

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Fort Hays State University women's golf team wrapped up its first day of tournament play Monday at the Northeastern State Golf Classic.
The FHSU women were 12th after the first round. The Tigers shot 348 as a team -- 50 strokes back of tournament leader Northeastern State.
Senior Carmen Thompson led the Tigers with a first-round score of 78, tying for 13th. Sophomore Samantha Hobson shot 81 and is tied for 33rd.
Freshman Natalie Bethel, Kaycee Beilman and Megan DeWerff shot 94, 95 and 98, respectively.The tournament concludes today.
