Tiger women lose on own goal

The Fort Hays State University women's soccer team succumbed to an own goal Friday at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

The Tigers lost 1-0. The own goal came in the 72nd minute after the two teams were in a deadlock for the early parts of the game.

FHSU out shot UCCS 17-13, but the Tigers just couldn't put the ball in the back of the opponents' net.

UCCS goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder got the clean sheet and posted nine saves. Freshman Rachel Schaad started at goalkeeper for FHSU and had four saves.

The Tigers play Colorado State University-Pueblo at noon today in Pubelo, Colo.
