MANKATO, Minn. -- The Fort Hays State University women's soccer team's dramatic post-season run ended with a loss to No. 3 seed University of Central Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs.

The Tigers fell 2-0 to UCO (16-2-3) on Friday at the Pitch at Gage Towers in Mankato, Minn.

FHSU (14-7-1) fell behind early as UCO's Shayna Kindsvater scored her first goal of the season in the sixth minute. The Bronchos added a second goal in the 33rd minute by Kate Foran.

The Tigers posted 13 shots in the match, but only placed three of them on goal. UCO had 18 with seven on goal.

FHSU sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Barnaba posted five saves but allowed two goals.

The Tigers won eight more matches than they did in their inaugural 2011 season when they finished 6-11-1.

In order to qualify for the national tournament, FHSU knocked off the top three seeds in the MIAA Tournament and won the tournament title -- the program's first.
