Tiger cross country teams win at Emporia

EMPORIA -- The Fort Hays State University cross country teams each won the Emporia State Cross Country Invitational on Friday.
The FHSU men, ranked No. 26 in NCAA Division II, dominated the meet with a score 32 -- 101 points ahead of second-place Park University -- and placed five runners in the top 10.
Sophomore Cory Keehn finished second on the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes and 47 seconds.
Seniors Alex Hendee and Tanner Christensen placed fifth and sixth in 25:11 and 25:38, respectively. Juniors Chris Ramsgard and Michael Wolf rounded out the team scoring with ninth- and 10th-place finishes in 25:55 and 25:58.
The Tiger women scored 42 team points -- 24 better than second-place Baker University.
They had three runners in the top 10.
Junior Gentry Linscott was fourth in 18:22 on the 5,000-meter course. Sophomore Alex Nelson and junior Carman Hill were eighth and ninth in 18:46 and 18:49, respectively. Sophomore Hannah Robinson and freshman Ramsey McCarter placed 18th and 20th in 19:19 and 19:27.
