Two Hays High School boys' basketball players made it on the all-Western Athletic Conference team.

Sophomore center Brady Werth was not only selected to the first team. He also earned Player of the Year honors. Junior guard Lane Clark was a second-team selection.

Werth averaged 14 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game, and Clark was second on the team in scoring with 7 points per game. Clark also averaged three assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Hays High capped its 14-8 season with a first-round loss to eventual Class 5A state runner-up Lansing. The Indians led Hays High to state for the first time in 10 years.

Dodge City head coach Dennis Hamilton earned coach of the year honors for the league champion Red Demons.
