Hays High junior striker Taylor Herman was selected to the Class 5A all-state first team at midfielder.
Herman, the program's first to be named to the all-state first team, played forward for the Indians and led the squad in scoring with 17 goals -- a school record. She also tied for the team lead in assists with five.
Herman also was named WAC Player of the Year and selected to the Class 5A All-Regional team by the Southwest Kansas Soccer Coaches Association in late May.
Joining her on the all-regional team were sophomore defender Reagan Kaiser and freshman defender Brooke Russell.
