HHS second, TMP fourth in Dodge City

DODGE CITY -- The Hays High School and Thomas More Prep-Marian golf teams competed Tuesday at the Dodge City Invitational.

The Indians took second with a team score of 323, while TMP was fourth out of 10 teams with a score of 342. Dodge City won the meet with 290.

Outside of TMP, all the schools were Class 5A or larger.

Dodge City dominated, earning six of the 10 medals, but Hays High and TMP still managed to split three between them.

Hays High freshman Payton Ruder and senior Ryan Unruh placed seventh and eighth, shooting 79 and 80, respectively, while TMP senior Kade Megaffin took 10th with an 80.

Junior Kaden Beilman and sophomore Nathan Romme rounded out Hays High's team scoring with a pair of 82s. Juniors Lane Clark and Chase Lynd also competed on varsity, shooting 88 and 90, respectively.

TMP freshman Hayden Rohr was second best on his squad, shooting an 84. Sophomore Max Megaffin shot an 87, and senior Kade Schmidt was the final scorer, shooting a 91. The remaining varsity members, senior Garrett Stoecklein and sophomore Lane Fisher, shot 97 and 98, respectively.
