HHS goes 1-2 in Goodland

The Hays High School volleyball team went 1-2 on Tuesday at the Goodland Quadrangular.

The Indians defeated Thomas More Prep-Marian (25-20, 25-16), but they lost to Goodland (25-19, 25-17) and Burlington (25-23, 25-20).

Hays High now is 4-2 this season.

Senior Millie Copper had a team-high six kills against TMP. She also had an ace.

Senior Mikayla Linn had five kills, and freshman Albany Schaffer had a team-high 17 digs. Freshman Madison Prough had 11 assists.

In the match against Goodland, Copper and senior Sydney Niernberger each had four kills. Junior setter Tori Aten had 10 assists, and Schaffer had seven digs.

Against Burlington, senior Mikayla Linn led the squad with five kills and an ace. Aten and senior Shea Briggs had 11 assists and 10 assists, respectively.

The Indians compete next at 4 p.m. Thursday at Dodge City.

Scores for TMP were not received this morning.
