HHS volleyball goes 2-1 in Dodge

DODGE CITY -- The Hays High School volleyball team went 2-1 on Thursday at the Dodge City quad.
The Indians defeated Sublette (25-12, 25-8) and Lakin (18-25, 25-21, 25-21) but lost to Dodge City (25-15, 25-21).
Hays High now is 6-3.
Against Sublette, senior Millie Copper led the team in kills with seven. Freshman Albany Schaffer had six digs, and freshman Madison Prough led the team with six assists. Senior Shea Briggs had a team-high four aces.
Against Dodge City, senior Mikayla Linn posted five kills, while Briggs had eight assists. Schaffer finished with 18 digs.
Against Lakin, Copper and Briggs had seven kills apiece, and Briggs also led the team in assists with eight. Linn and Schaffer each had double-digit digs with 19 and 12, respectively. Copper and Linn also had two aces apiece.
