HHS swimmers finish fifth in Hutch

HUTCHINSON -- The Hays High School girls' swimming team finished fifth at the Hutchinson Invitational on Tuesday.

Junior Courtney Hess led the team with second-place and fourth-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle, respectively. She recorded times of 6:24.10 in the 500 and 2:23.24 in the 200.

Freshman Becky Meagher placed sixth in the 100-yard butterfly, and freshman Shelbie Berens finished sixth in the 200-yard IM.

The 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard freestyle relays each got sixth.
