By The Hays Daily News

On Tuesday afternoon, the NCAA office confirmed more perfect game information for Fort Hays State University senior ace right-hander Maddie Holub, who threw perfect games in back-to-back starts and earned MIAA Pitcher of the Week honors for the sixth time this season.

The NCAA confirmed Holub is the only pitcher in Division II history to throw perfect games in consecutive starts. Quincy (Il.) University's Torie Bunzell is the career leader with four perfect games and did throw a perfect game and no-hitter in the same doubleheader against Rockhurst (Mo.) University on April 2, 2011.

As well, the NCAA confirmed Holub and Bunzell are the lone pitchers in Division II history to have at least two perfect games in seven-plus inning contests. Bunzell had two seven-inning perfect games, an eight-inning perfect game and a five-inning perfect game, while Holub's perfect games were both of seven innings. Holub is now fourth on the Division II list for perfect games.

Holub has four complete game no-hitters in her career and three this season. The three this year sets a MIAA record.

The Tigers, ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II, travel Friday to Warrensburg, Mo. for a doubleheader with University of Central Missouri.
