Goodland, Russell place first, second in Russell

RUSSELL -- Goodland's and Russell's high school girls' golf teams took first and second Monday at the Russell Invitational.
Goodland was first with a score of 196, while Russell was second with 210. Thomas More Prep-Marian was seventh with 251.
Russell freshman Megan Boxberger won the meet with a score of 44. Her teammate, junior Alex Ptacek, was third with a 48.
Goodland had three golfers in the top five. Freshman Logan Perryman finished second (46), and senior Cortney Cowan and junior Megan Siruta were fourth (48) and fifth (49), respectively.
TMP's top golfer was junior Monica Michaud. Michaud finished 20th with a score of 59.
TMP seniors Emily Leiker and Andie Marsell were 25th (61) and 28th (64), respectively.
