The Monarch boys bested the five-team field with 137.5 points -- 55 better than second-place Hutchinson Trinity. The TMP girls, who recorded back-to-back runner-up finishes in Class 3A the past two season, won with 138 -- 50 better than second-place Hoisington.

On the boys' side, senior Rodney Deus swept his four events, taking home golds in the 100-meter dash (10.88 seconds), 200-meter dash (22.62 seconds), long jump (19 feet, 11 inches) and 400-meter relay (45.38 seconds), which he ran with Nick Schmidt, Cameron Fouts and Jared Schumacher.

Other gold finishes for TMP's boys included Jordan Pfannenstiel in the 110-meter hurdles (18.59 seconds), Sam Dreiling in the pole vault (12-6) and Skyler Urban in the triple jump (38-11).
