HHS boys claim WAC title

DODGE CITY -- The Hays High School boys' track team won its third straight WAC title with 173 points, well ahead of the field. Dodge City was second with 57 points. Garden City won the girls' title for the first time in 20 years. The Buffs finished with 124 points, while Hays High was third with 67 points. Junior Adam Deterding led HHS with a first place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a 14.48. Hays High's other titles included the 3,200-meter relay.
